The Firehouse Swing Dance is excited to present our first ever Saturday Swing Matinee at the Belly Up Tavern. The Belly Up has been continually voted “San Diego’s Best Live Music Venue” by several publications including the Union Tribune, The Reader and San Diego Magazine as well as heralded as one of the hottest clubs on the West Coast by Rolling Stone Magazine.

Doors open at 3p. We've got a FREE Jitterbug Swing lesson at 4p and some rockin' swing dance music from long-time San Diego dancer favorites, Jimmy Woodard and the Swingin’ Kings, starting at 4:30p. Our Swing Dance Contest takes place from 5:30-5:45p and is open to couples of all levels. Prizes include $50 Gift Card to the BellyUp plus VIP passes to upcoming BellyUp shows.

For over 10 years, the Firehouse Swing Dance has been THE place in San Diego where all the hepcats and hepkittens congregate. Originally located at the San Diego Center for Moving Arts (a renovated "firehouse") and the La Jolla Firehouse, the Firehouse Swing Dance is now located at the spacious San Diego's Woman's Club, founded in 1892, the perfect vintage swing venue. With a smooth dance floor, open bar, and eight of the best swing instructors in town, the Firehouse Swing Dance is a great place to experience the joy of swing dancing, get some aerobic exercise, hang out with friends old and new, and perhaps, even meet the love of your life -- we have testimonials to prove it!
